HEADSHOT: A Pause, A Picture, A Possibility
HEADSHOT is a guided experience for people who want to spend intentional time with something that matters.
What this experience is about
At the heart of HEADSHOT is a simple premise: the body often knows before the mind does.
Through presence-based coaching, embodied practice, and the act of being witnessed — by yourself, by others, and by the camera — you are invited to explore what is alive for you now.
This is not about performance, confidence, or getting a “good photo”. Imagine getting support to express your thoughts and emotions through your presence to help you see things more clearly.
We will support you to:
slow down
listen more closely
hold an intention with care
allow yourself to be seen without needing to explain or justify
What emerges is different for each person.
Who this experience is for
HEADSHOT is for you if:
You’re carrying an intention, question, or quality you want to explore more fully
You’re navigating change or sensing something new wanting to emerge
You value introspection and reflection as part of your personal development
You would value an experience that engages body, emotion, and meaning, not just the intellect
The Experience
HEADSHOT unfolds over three connected sessions, allowing time for preparation, an in-person portrait photography experience, and integration.
We will meet first online as a group. Then each person will have an individual portrait photography experience in London or southwest Wales. After that we will meet again online as a group.
1. Opening Circle & Experience Preparation
Online · 90 minutes - 14 April, 10:00-11:30 BST
We begin together online, creating the group container and setting the tone for the experience. This session is about arriving individually and collectively.
Together we will:
meet each other and the facilitators
explore how intention lives in the body
work with simple, accessible embodied practices (sensing and expressing intention/emotion in our body)
explore what you want to bring into the experience
share guidance for the in-person day
Nothing needs to be final or fixed. This is about opening and exploring.
2. Individual Studio Experience
In person · 20 minutes per participant - London on Saturday, 24 April or by appointment in Jae’s southwest Wales studio
Each participant has a dedicated, one-to-one session in a photo studio either in London on Saturday, 25 April or by appointment at Jae’s private home studio near Carmarthen, southwest Wales.
The photoshoot integrates coaching in a quiet, focused space where you are supported to connect to your intention as it is expressed through your physical presence. There is no pressure to perform or “get it right”. We work with what is available — gently and respectfully.
The studio setup is intentionally simple, allowing attention to remain on you and what you are holding.
3. Reveal & Integration Circle
Online · 90 minutes - 12 May, 10:00-11:30 BST
After individual portrait sessions, we reconvene as a group.
This session is an opportunity to:
witness the images created with curiosity
reflect on what you notice and what resonates
integrate the experience and connect it to what is next
be seen and heard by others who shared the journey
This is a space for recognition, meaning-making, and closure.

What you’ll take away
Participants often leave with:
A deeper connection to their intention
A felt sense of having been witnessed
Language — internal or spoken — for something previously unarticulated
Greater ease with being seen
A set of images that hold the essence of a moment in time
The portraits are touchstones rather than souvenirs.

Growing up in Budapest during the historic fall of the Berlin Wall felt like sitting in the front row of a wild makeover show. I witnessed first hand the art of reinvention. Both my parents faced major career crossroads in midlife, and seeing them grapple with uncertainty taught me that reinvention isn’t a stroll through a rose garden, it’s messy, unpredictable, and often painful. But I also saw how embracing change can lead to new opportunities and, eventually, a better life.
The deep desire for reinvention found me in my early 50s, after more than 25 years in corporate HR at a FTSE 100 company. Even though I had everything I needed, I felt an increasing pull toward a different kind of life, one where I had more creative freedom and control over my time. Was this a midlife crisis, I wondered? Should I just wait it out and hope the feeling will pass? Or was this a sign that it was time to move on? I felt more lost than I had since I was a teenager.
I turned to professional literature, and a new world opened up to me. Eventually, I enrolled at Chip Conley’s Modern Elder Academy (MEA), eager to understand the complex terrain of midlife transitions. My growing fascination with reinvention became impossible to ignore. So, I took the leap, leaving the familiar behind to embrace a deeper calling: guiding others through major career transitions by helping them tap into their talents and reimagine their futures.
Today, I combine career coaching with the transformative power of travel. Through workshops and retreats designed for renewal and self-discovery, I help people navigate change. Along the way, I’ve become a collector of unconventional career stories—testaments to human creativity and resilience in the pursuit of a larger, more meaningful life.

I am a photographer, and that practice sits alongside my work as a holistic coach, organisational development consultant and wellbeing practitioner.
I almost always work with people who admit they ‘hate their photo taken’, but after every shoot they always say ‘that was fun!’ I’ll create a safe place where you can be yourself, explore and have some fun with the experience. You can read more about me here.
I experienced the power of photography first hand as a model, using the process of witnessing myself in a picture as a way to more closely examine who I am or even wanted to be. I wrote about this experience in a blog you can read here.
After a big life transition in 2023, a move from London to a tiny village in Southwest Wales, I wanted to continue to use photography as a creative outlet and to continue my personal exploration through self portraiture. The image used here is a self portrait I made after a particularly emotional time when I was dealing with a lot of unexpected grief that surfaced after my big move. I wanted to capture the emotion I felt getting to the other side of my grief when I felt stronger and grounded, but also immensely grateful for the support I received from those around me to get me through.
Eventually, I started photographing other people, and I discovered how much joy it gave me and aligned with my purpose. I quickly developed an interest in soulful portrait photography, and I’ve had the desire for some time to use photography as part of workshops just like this. I’m so excited to create a safe place for you to get into your body, hold an intention and then be able to witness a still of that moment - as inspiration, as motivation, as a memory.
